Have you always wanted to take up tennis, but aren’t sure where to start? Playing tennis has so many amazing health benefits, and it is a sport you can continue to play throughout your life. If you were never taught how to play tennis before, finding a coach to help you get a hang of the sport is a great first step.
For rising athlete, Aaron Umen, tennis is more than just a sport. As a tennis player and coach, the sport is equal parts passion and profession. He shares his top tips for finding a good tennis coach:
- Start by searching for local tennis clubs in your area. Usually there will be a few coaches associated with the club that could teach you. If anyone you know plays tennis, reach out and ask them if they know of any coaches.
- Once you meet up with your coach, make sure that you are comfortable with them and that you can work well together.
- Ask them any questions that you have. How long have they been coaching tennis? What age groups do they usually work with? Check to see if they are certified from a recognized body.
